The USA Lacrosse Progression™

Run and Shoot is unlike any other lacrosse program.  It exists to teach lacrosse using a carefully organized curriculum developed by lacrosse coaching experts, Jamie Munro and Mike Waldvogel, both Division I coaches with long experience in building individual skills and team performance.

The USA Lacrosse Progression was developed in 1993 and has been used throughout the country with over 10,000 athletes and has resulted in lacrosse scholarships to many Division I schools and for improving the skills of many thousands of lacrosse players. What follows is a summary of the program.

The curriculum has both individual and team elements.  It is based on three guiding principles:

Overspeed - Raising a player's comfort zone by training at game speed.

Part-Whole Method - breaks finished skills into teachable component skills

Setting limitations - Setting specific goals for in-game activities
Team Camp.  The Run and Shoot Michigan Camp is a team camp.  This means that many of the participants will enroll to train with their team and coach.  Coaches interested in details regarding the camp, registration and coaching should email saramunro@comcast.net.  Individuals are also welcome to register - we will place you on a "house" team.
Champion Lacrosse Girls Camp Featuring
Marist College Head Coach, Noelle Cebron
Univ. of Pennslyvania Assistant Coach, Jule Shaner Young
Champion Lacrosse is excited to bring some of the top coaches in women's lacrosse to Michigan for our camp on June 21, 22 and 23.  This day camp is for girls in rising grades 7 through 12 who want to learn from experienced NCAA coaches.
Noelle Cebron is in her fourth year as head coach of the Marist women's lacrosse team. During her time so far, Cebron led Marist to its fifth and sixth consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament appearances.

Cebron began her coaching career as an assistant at her alma mater Temple University, from where she graduated in 2002.

During her four-year playing career at Temple, Cebron helped lead the Owls to two consecutive Atlantic-10 Championships and NCAA tournament appearances.

She also holds a spot in the Temple record books, owning the single-season assists record and ranking second all-time on the career assist list with 88. She also holds the fifth highest total for points in a single season.

During her senior year she was named a Division I All-American. Cebron also earned First Team All-Conference and All-Championship honors in addition to being named First Team All Mid-Atlantic.
Julie Shaner Young
Julie is an assistant coach at Penn.  A member of Princeton's lacrosse team from 1998-2001, Shaner received many accolades, including Ivy League Rookie of the Year, and All-Ivy honors from 1998-2001. Shaner was also a three-time NCAA All-American (1999-2001).  As team captain, she helped lead the team to the 2001 Ivy League title and its second consecutive NCAA Final Four appearance.

Shaner was a Tewaaraton Trophy finalist in her senior year, an honor that is presented to the top women's collegiate lacrosse player.
She was also the recipient of the prestigious C. Otto von Kienbusch Award that is presented annually to the Princeton University Sportswoman of the Year who has a high scholastic rank and a demonstrated ability in athletics and the qualities of a true sportswoman.

A true athlete, Shaner was also an All-Ivy League soccer player for the Tigers from 1997-2000 where she earned numerous conference and school honors including first-team All-Ivy as a junior and second-team as a senior.

After her stellar athletic career at Princeton, Shaner immediately jumped into coaching. She is responsible for organizing practices and developing game strategies. Not falling behind in playing sports herself, Shaner has been a member of the US Elite Lacrosse team for two years.

Shaner joined the Red and Blue after serving as assistant women's soccer coach at Princeton. She graduated from Princeton in 2001 with a degree in psychology and a certificate in the Teacher Preparation Program.
